I did not get much sleep last night. Too excited. Donna Winchester, Times Correspondent sent me an email yesterday that today at 5am the story would go live.
What story?Where KnowBe4 would wind up in this year's Best Place To Work midsize workplace in TampaBay. We made it No.1 in last year's small business section but we were far from sure if we could make it a repeat performance.
What we did know is we would be in good company and congratulations to everyone on the list, Tampa Bay is a great place to live, work and play!
Robert Trigaux, Times Business Columnist wrote: "Think of 2017's Tampa Bay Times Top Workplaces report as a celebration of 100 area businesses where employees like to work, feel recognized and supported, routinely give back to their community, see a clear corporate direction and believe their bosses will guide them there. Oh yeah, staffers at these businesses generally work hard and have fun along the way.
"In the mid-size category of area businesses with 150 to 499 employees, Clearwater cybersecurity firm KnowBe4 leapt to the No. 1 spot. Only last year the anti-hacker startup led by CEO Stu Sjouwerman ranked No. 1 in the small business category of firms with fewer than 150 workers."
Donna had been over to our office, and the Times' photographer Doug Clifford had been taking shots for the best part of a day, but they were tightlipped about where we would wind up. So the big moment arrived and to my great joy, we made it No.1 for midsize company: Woo Hoo !!
The article starts out with: "It's every entrepreneur's dream: a niche position in an exploding market, a reputation as a trusted problem-solver and a talented, energetic team of employees who enjoy coming to work every day."
Here is one more snippet and you can read the rest at the Times: "The fast-growing firm posted $24 million in sales in 2016, exceeding its goal of $17 million. It received an $8 million cash infusion from a venture capital fund. And in the past 12 months, it grew its employee pool from 70 to 253 to satisfy a client list that more than tripled."
Here is the article with a company bio. Enjoy!
Let's stay safe out there.
Warm regards,
Stu Sjouwerman,
Founder and CEO, KnowBe4, Inc
