Inoculate Employees Against The Locky Ransomware

Stu Sjouwerman | Mar 15, 2016

KnowBe4 has immediately responded to Dridex's Locky ransomware attack by releasing a new attachment option which is called "MS Office document with Macro". This new option allows a KnowBe4 customer to send an email to all their employees which simulates the Locky ransomware attack and inoculates employees against this attack before it hits the organization.  Here is an example screenshot of how this could look, combined with a CEO Spoofing attempt. Note the new attachment type: Word Document With Macro,  which will be attached to the email as "invoice.docm". If the employee enables the "macro" function in the Word file when prompted, this will be recorded as a "fail".
