As artificial intelligence continues to advance at an unprecedented pace, the potential for its misuse in the realm of information security grows in parallel. A recent experiment by data scientist Izzy Miller shows another angle. 

Miller managed to clone his best friends' group chat using AI, downloading 500,000 messages from a seven-year-long group chat, and training an AI language model to replicate his friends' conversations.

The experiment not only highlighted the capabilities of AI in mimicking human speech and behavior but also exposed the risks associated with AI-enabled social engineering.

The success of Miller's experiment demonstrates the ease with which AI models can be trained with sensitive information, posing a potential threat to information security. The AI model used by Miller gained intimate knowledge of his friends' lives, relationships, and personal struggles, revealing the potential for bad actors to exploit such information for manipulation, online harassment, or blackmail.
