Symantec's Intelligence Report for December 2013 is out. To no one's surprise the rate of infected emails is increasing dramatically last quarter, it looked like this
- October - 1 in 437 emails was infected with some kind of virus
- November - 1 in 253 emails was infected with some kind of virus
- December - 1 in 164 emails was infected with some kind of virus
The threat report is loaded with great information about what the bad guys have been up to. You don't have to use Symantec to find good ammunition here when you are talking about securing your network.
