$1,000 Referral Fee For A Good Sales Rep

Yes, you read that right. I will pay a thousand bucks for a referral that gets me a good sales rep!

So here is the story. We sold Sunbelt Software in 2010 and I walked out with an 8-figure number. Was "retired" for 5 days and decided that was not for me! I'm waaay too young for that. :-D

I looked back at our fantastic success with VIPRE but observed the one problem that antivirus does not solve well: end-users clicking on phishing links and opening up attachments infected with malware.

So I started KnowBe4, teamed up with Kevin Mitnick who is a world famous former hacker, created and started selling security awareness training, because that market was underserved and the solutions out there were not effective. KnowBe4 lives 100% in the cloud. We use SalesForce and have a bunch of other tools that all work from within your browser.  

We have done exceptionally well with our Kevin Mitnick Security Awareness Training. We are growing over 400% per year and should make it in the INC 500 next year. Many small and medium size companies are not training their employees to be safe on the Internet, while cybercrime has gone pro and launches sophisticated attacks on end-users. We have 400+ enterprise customers with a very healthy yearly renewal rate.

Now, having said that, I'm not going to PR you. This can be a tough product to sell. Our biggest challenge in selling is that every sale is typically off-budget and requires a tailor-made sale "up the flagpole" to work an opportunity through to a close. There are no easy sales. We fight for every single deal. But this is a fun game to play!

I need reps that want to team up with us to "recreate Sunbelt Software" and want to get in on the ground floor. Ideally they need to have some experience in IT security sales, but for sure they need to have a proven track record selling software (we check the production record and there will be a personality, IQ and aptitude test).

We have two types of Reps: SMB (Small to medium Business) and Large Enterprise. It takes about 3 months to ramp up as an SBM Rep and you sell to accounts from 25 to 1000 seats which is our bread and butter. Large Enterprise has a different pay plan, is handled by separate Sales Reps (over 1000 seats), as it is a completely different sales process and takes a lot longer to ramp up. This is an in-house Rep position in the Tampa Bay, FL area.

So, here is the (killer) deal. You get 40K base pay, and straightforward, great commissions.

  • 10% commissions on all sales if under quota (set monthly)
  • 12% commissions on all sales if at quota
  • 15% commissions on all sales if 20% above quota 

If you know how to sell, work hard, are disciplined and ethical, you are able to make between 60 and 100K per year in a fun, and sane environment!
