U.S. Commercial Banking In Top 10 Riskiest Industries.



Mark Holan at the Tampa Bay Business Journal reported on something remarkable. Commercial Banks are in the #6 slot of the Top 10 Riskiest industries in the U.S. (!)  "Industry research firm IBISWorld analyzed more than 1,000 industries across the United States and identified the 10 riskiest. The risk scores referenced are on a scale of one to nine, where one represents the lowest risk and nine represents the highest."  Frankly I had no idea that banks were that high in the "Risk Top 10". Here is the list with their risk scores, and here is a link to the full article.

  2. Apparel Knitting Mills: 5.99
  3. Gasoline & Petroleum Wholesaling: 6.05
  4. Business Certification & IT Schools: 6.16
  5. Major Household Appliace Manufacturing: 6.25
  6. Commercial Banking: 6.33
  7. Fuel Dealers: 6.54
  8. Leather Tanning & Finishing: 6.65
  9. Appliance Repair: 7:17
  10. Recordable Media Manufacturing: 7:24

I guess with all the attacks on banks and credit unions, getting their employees Internet Security Awareness Training is no luxury but a must.
