I just recevied some interesting information. SearchSecurity.com surveyed IT professionals about their end-user security training purchase intentions for 2013. The numbers are revealing. The first question one was: "End-user security training is a priority for my organization". Out of 1683 respondents, 65% answered affirmative, 35% said no:

The second question one was: "Please answer True or False: End user security training is ineffective". This time, a whopping 79% answered false, and only 21% throught this was true, so the 80-20 rule is again at work here in favor of security awareness training being effective.

Question three was: " Please answer True or False: My organization will spend more on end user security training". As you see, this is a 50-50 split. The fact that half of the 1683 participants plan to spend more in 2013 shows that an increasing amount of organizations understand the urgent need for security awareness training of their end-users.
