Norton Protects Against Flame?

The antivirus industry is making hay with the new Flame malware, but Symantec marketing is taking it a little too far. They sent an email to existing customer about Flame and I quote: "Norton customers can feel secure that we've been monitoring and blocking this threat and providing you with the latest updated security". And then they said: "While Flamer has managed to infect a large number of computers worldwide, you’re currently protected by Norton." Excuse me, but that is just BS. This threat was not detected by any AV product until a few days ago, and very little machines were actually infected, we are talking hundreds in the Middle East. You wonder if they do this on purpose or if this is just another marketing stupidity. Here is a screenshot of Norton (moron?) antivirus email: "You are currently protected from Flamer"
