You know cybercrime is getting worse when the Chinese claim to be victims! Boohoo, doesn't your heart just bleed?  China's claiming that it was the victim of nearly half a million cybercrime attacks.

According to state news service Xinhua, the greatest proportion of the attacks, 15%, were traced to IP addresses in the US.  Around eight percent came from India, and a little over half from China itself.

This doesn't, of course, mean the attacks actually originated in these countries as proxy servers could have been used.

As many as 10% of the country's 45,000+ government websites were hit.  According to the report, many attacks were politically or religiously motivated. Nearly 35,000 web pages were attacked by hackers in 2010 - a 67.6% increase on 2009.

If the Great (Fire) Wall of China can’t keep the bad guys (the other cybercriminals) away, then who can? The answer to that is your employees!  Get them trained on Internet Security Awareness and they can help protect your network. Take a Free Phishing Test of your employees.
