Computing's Security Excellence Awards celebrate the achievements of the IT industry's leading security companies, solutions, products and personalities - those are keeping every other part of the industry operating.
For 2018, they covered every element of success in the security landscape, from education to email.
With product and project-related awards, combined with organisational categories and accolades recognising outstanding individual achievement, there's an award to showcase every organisation's successes.
The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday 21 November - directly after Computing's Enterprise Security & Risk Management Live - where they revealed the industry's most outstanding companies, solutions, products and personalities, chosen by an expert panel of judges.
Computing magazine said: "If 2017 was the year of ransomware, with attacks like WannaCry and NotPetya, then 2018 has been the year of the data breach.
Facebook was one of the first enterprise-scale firms to face the threat of penalties under the GDPR, but it will be far from the last: breach complaints have more than doubled since the new regulation came into effect, according to the ICO.
That makes for a fascinating security environment, and one that tests the limits of the most ardent infosec professional. However, the industry has really stepped up to bat - as shown in the extremely high quality of entries for this year's Computing Security Excellence Awards.
