Cyberattacks Globally Increased by 28% in the Third Quarter of 2022 as the Average Org Experiences Over 1,100 Attacks Weekly

Cyberattacks Globally IncreasedCheck Point Research provides highlights that color the third quarter of 2022, painting a picture of increases in attack frequency and intensity in every single sector.

If you leave this article with nothing else, hear this – according to Check Point’s latest research, cybercriminals are currently enjoying more attack success across every industry vertical. Sectors like Retail, Healthcare and Finance had the greatest increases in weekly attacks experiences, with growth of 69%, 60%, and 40%, respectively. Education is experiencing the most attacks weekly, at 2,148 – 37% more than the next highest sector, military/government.

And while North America saw a 47% increase in attacks in Q3, the clear “winner” was New Zealand with 72% more attacks this year than the same time last year.
