Announcing: Audiocasts - A New Podcast-Like Training Content Type

Screenshot 2025-02-28 at 2.20.18 PMWe are very excited to announce the addition of audiocasts, a new content type now available in the ModStore to help strengthen your security culture through an engaging audio format.

This new content type takes advantage of the popular media format, podcasts. Audiocasts are different from podcasts (thus the slightly different name) in that they are not available via a podcast app but can be assigned as mandatory or optional training like all of our other popular content types.

They are learning-focused, rather than just for entertainment, and a lot shorter than your average podcast – most are under ten minutes. They track completion (just like our video modules) when someone has listened to the episode and not just fast-forwarded to the end. Features include a full, built-in transcript and our standard access for keyboard-only controls.

Audiocasts can be consumed by your learners as part of a training campaign on their computer or mobile device, and we highly recommend the experience on the KnowBe4 Learner App. Encouraging your learners to listen to Audiocasts via the app is a great way to get started with the app if you haven't experienced it yet.

To start out with, our global publishing teams have released 22 Audiocasts that are now available in the ModStore. This is just the beginning though as we will continue to provide fresh content for this new content type, just like we do for all of our other content types. You can find them by searching by Content Type using the dropdown in the ModStore and selecting Audiocasts (like pictured below).

As usual, our teams have done a great job of giving you different experiences and options. The KnowBe4 publishing team created a new series that showcases “hack-proof habits” for everyday cyberdefense and offers practical insights into developing a secure tomorrow. The series launches with a real-life story of an employee who successfully identified and thwarted a WhatsApp phishing attempt.

For those of you who have Diamond level of KSAT, The Security Awareness Company has created several journalistic-style episodes that follow investigator Silas Cahill as he uncovers the gripping story of a company’s battle with ransomware, offering cybersecurity lessons through rich audio and dramatic storytelling to help your users understand important concepts.

The Twist & Shout team, based in the UK, has created story-based episodes about two investigators who retrace the steps of a dramatized hacking attack – based on true stories. It has a “true crime” podcast feel, and like all of our Audiocasts, it has lessons and learning points built in. These episodes include high production value and powerful storytelling from the makers of The Inside Man, Security Snapshots, and more.

The Popcorn team, based in South Africa, has created a series called EncryptED. It features Andy, a former white-hat hacker turned consultant who serves up digital security wisdom with a generous side of wit and dad jokes. The EncryptED series currently consists of five episodes and will be expanded quarterly throughout 2025. It will be available in both English for the US and for Great Britain utilizing local voiceover talent.

The exploqii team, based in both Germany and Japan, has created a gripping four-part cybercrime series in German, English and Japanese, based on a fictional true-crime story. It examines a devastating cyberattack on a major hospital. Featuring an experienced cybersecurity expert in each episode, the series explores how hackers endangered human lives through sophisticated phishing attacks and ransomware, culminating in a tense extortion attempt.

The El Pescador team in Brazil has created the “Security Gossip” series. Boost your organization's security culture with these engaging, bite-sized learning modules that deliver critical security lessons through relatable workplace scenarios. It is perfect for new employee onboarding, regular security awareness training, and reinforcing existing security policies. Several episodes are coming throughout the remainder of 2025 and will be available in English, Portuguese for Brazil, and Spanish for Latin America.

Look for more episodes being added to these series as well as different spins on Audiocasts to be released in the months to come. We would love to hear from you on what topics you would like to see covered in the future as well as any creative ideas you have for future episodes of Audiocasts. Let us know what you think of this new content offering!
