[PLATFORM UPDATE] COVID-19 New Templates Categories

This Friday March 27, at 9 a.m. Eastern, we will add two new categories of email templates related to Coronavirus/COVID-19. At this time, we will move all of our existing Coronavirus-related items to these new categories.

These categories will be moved to the very top of our category list so they can be front and center for everyone to see.

We will be informing existing customers of this through our in-platform release notes right away, so they can take the next couple of days to modify their existing phishing and newsletter campaigns to make sure they're sending the right templates out.

The names and descriptions of the new categories are below:

Coronavirus/COVID-19 Phishing:

This category will include a variety of phishing emails related to Coronavirus or COVID-19. This assortment will include copies of real Coronavirus phishing emails as well as original phishing emails designed by the KnowBe4 team. All of the templates will directly or indirectly relate to the current pandemic. Examples of templates that are "indirectly" related to the current pandemic would be meeting invitations, documents sent for digital signature, shipping notifications, emails related to telemedicine, and more.

NOTE: ALL Coronavirus or COVID-19 templates that currently exist in other categories will be moved to this new Coronavirus-specific category on Friday March 27 at 9 a.m.

Coronavirus/COVID-19 Scam Alerts:

This category will include hints and tips you can share with members of your organization to help them stay secure during the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. We've been including similar warnings for Scam of the Week and Security Hints and Tips but we wanted to be able to highlight the tips that specifically relate to the current pandemic.

We also have new Coronavirus vishing templates - for the moment, these are for the US only, since three out of four request that the person enter their Social Security number:

Coronavirus Stimulus Package (SSN)

Claims that the person is eligible for a $1,200 stimulus check, and they just need to enter their Social to confirm.

Coronavirus Testing Kit (SSN)

Based on a real attack, claims that due to new government regulation, the person can receive a free Coronavirus testing kit to their home.

Coronavirus School Schedule (SSN)

Targets parents by referencing a change in their child's school schedule due to the Coronavirus, then asks for Social to confirm identity.

Increased Coronavirus Cases in Your Area (Zip Code)

A call from the local "county commissioner" claiming that there has been an increase in coronavirus cases in their area and requests their zip code to confirm their location.
