McAfee on Intel's decision to drop the name McAfee priceless

Oh, this one is priceless.

The BBC's CES 2014 reporting included an item about

Brian Krzanich, the new Intel CEO who unveiled a computer the size of an SD card, but one part of his presentation was interesting - the decision to rename the firm's security products division. It is ditching the McAfee brand and replacing it with Intel Security.

The original founder of the business, John McAfee, told the BBC he was overjoyed by the news: "I am now everlastingly grateful to Intel for freeing me from this terrible association with the worst software on the planet. These are not my words, but the words of millions of irate users. "My elation at Intel's decision is beyond words."

Intel, which bought McAfee a few years ago, of course had a major PR problem with the brand. Last year McAfee created a video showing how to "uninstall" the firm's anti-virus software by simply shooting the laptop.

I guess it is no coincidence that Kevin always uses McAfee software in his Kevin Mitnick Security Awareness Training videos!
